Below are the steps for officials on how to join your association.

Create an account here:Login - RAMP InterActive
Select General Account as the account type.
Once logged in, click Officials Login under Add RAMP Admin Access.
Search for Peace River Minor Hockey Association and click Join Association.
Enter your information and click Save

PRMHA will be hosting an early clinic this year to get as many certified Officials for the upcoming season. Date TBA

Register today. PRMHA will reimburse your clinic cost after 3 game assignments. Just email your receipt to admin@prmha.com and bookkeeper@prmha.com once 3 assignments are completed.

NEW OFFICIALS (IN-PERSON CLINICS RUN FROM AUGUST-NOVEMBER ANNUALLY) - Registration opens august 1st

Minimum of *13 years old in the greater Calgary & Edmonton areas and *12 years old elsewhere (*all ages listed are as of December 31 of the current hockey season)
Contact your local Minor Hockey Association or RIC (Referee-In-Chief) to find out when they might be hosting a local in-person clinic, (please note: in many urban areas there is an abundance of level 1 officials (12-14 years old) and there maybe a limited amount of clinics offered.)
Officials 15 years of age or older are automatically level 2 officials.
Officials 18 years of age and older are automatically level 2 officials and will need a Criminal Record Check (CRC) that can be completed through this CRC LINK

NEW LEVEL 1 OFFICIALS - Register for the HOCKEY CANADA OFFICIATING PROGRAM - INTRO TO OFFICIATING this on-demand online course takes approximately three hours to complete, costs approximately $20, taken once in an officials lifetime and must be completed prior to registering for the annual 8 hour in-person clinic.

NEW LEVEL 2(15+) AND ALL OTHER RETURNING OFFICIALS - Must completed an online re-certification module that corresponds to your level ANNUALLY IN ADDITION TO YOUR CLINIC, these modules includes items such as: rule clarifications, dressing room etiquette, maltreatment and the test!

Once you have completed the above Mandatory online courses, you can register for the annual Official’s Clinic

Hockey Alberta runs about 400 in-person clinics all across the province throughout September-November annually, they cost about $140-$180 to attend and to be certified to officiate hockey
After creating your account CLICK HERE to go be re-directed to the dates and locations section of the website and follow the appropriate steps to register for an annual Official’s Clinic, pre-registration is mandatory. Registration for these clinics opens end of July/early August

In-person clinics will consist of classroom sessions and on-ice sessions. Bring a notepad, your skates, helmet (with visor) and a whistle. The ice session is only mandatory for Level 1 officials.

Equipment you will need to officiate games.
Once completed you are ready to go, talk to your minor hockey association and take the responsibility of getting games assigned yourself and you can begin officiating - good luck!

CLINIC SCHEDULE

Hockey Canada officials level system

All officials must re-certify and take a clinic every season.

LEVEL 1: Prepare a young or new official to officiate minor hockey.

New or returning officials 14 years of age and younger
Minimum age: 12 years; Maximum age: 14

LEVEL 2: Further enhance the training and skills of minor hockey officials.

Officials 15 years of age or older

LEVEL 3: Prepare officials capable of refereeing minor hockey playoffs, minor hockey regional playoffs and female national championships, or being linespersons in Junior B, C, D, Senior and U15 or U18 regional championships.

Fully certified Level 2 official
Minimum one year of Level 2 officiating experience

LEVEL MEMBER HIGH PERFORMANCE: Prepare hockey officials capable of refereeing Senior, Junior A, B, C, D, minor hockey regional and national championships, female hockey national championships and designated minor hockey IIHF competition, or being a linesman in Major Junior, Junior A, Senior, CIS, CCAA, inter-branch and IIHF competition.
